MDE has developed a tool to identify climate vulnerable communities in accordance with MD Code, Environment § 1-702. This map identifies communities disproportionately affected by climate impacts using a vulnerability index that ranks census blocks based on a community's existing sensitivity, adaptive capacity, and its exposure to urban heat island, storm surge, flooding, and drought conditions.
