Service Description: Integrated Report Clickable Map
It is important to consider water quality and TMDL status when renewing/developing environmental permits and conducting land use planning. To make surface water quality information more readily available to interested stakeholders, Maryland provides on-line access and a user defined query of the State’s Integrated Report of Surface Water Quality. MDE hopes that by providing such information, municipalities, county governments, researchers/academia, volunteer monitoring groups, private industry, and interested citizens will consider water quality when setting local priorities, implementing best management practices, conducting research projects, developing watershed plans, and formulating master plans and zoning initiatives.
MDE would like to acknowledge both the U.S.G.S. and the Chesapeake Bay Program for supplying the water feature base layers from the National Hydrography Dataset (1:24,000 scale) and the Chesapeake Bay segmentation system, respectively.
